Happy days at the 118
The mini bbq was a terrific success on the B.C. Day long-weekend -- seems our members will come out in droves for a hot dog on the grill!
We followed that with SEVEN birthday celebrations on Saturday, Aug. 9, to make the wannabe Muppet earn his huge pay cheque! Congratulations to everyone and it was great to see Annie back in the branch.
Our next planned event will be the Thanksgiving turkey and ham draw on Saturday, Oct. 4., with 15 turkeys, 15 hams and (hopefully) an extra prime rib.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday meat draws and 50/50 all summer.
And the
winner is ...
Geramy Parkinson won the PS5 console during the draw on July 1. The prize was donated by Molson Canadian with all proceeds going to support the North Shore dart league who use our premises during their season. Again, thank you to everyone who bought tickets.
Canada Day fun
Anthony P had you dancing off the bbq extravaganza during Canada Day. He even got our newest Canadian citizen Robert (sworn in just a few hours earlier) up to dance with Catie and wife-to-be Mikyla. And Mr. bbq entertained another recently new citizen (and future branch 118 member, Rachel) when he and Dave found a few minutes to relax. Thanks to everyone who showed up and made us run out of burgers and dogs!
The chili cookoff was a hot event
We fed the masses on June 7 after the chili contest; another great success in memory of the legendary Dave Mckay. Winners Sue and Lisa took home a dazzling certificate. Many thanks to all contestants, judges and branch members for participating.

... is also taking a break for the summer. At left are the latest winners who walked away with some valuable prizes. Trivia will return the last Thursday in September at 6 p.m.
